Coronavirus Update from the Elders of West Hills

Dear West Hills Family,

In light of the recent protocols from the CDC for Santa Clara County, we are addressing both campuses to keep you informed about the ministries of West Hills Community Church. We understand that the situation is very fluid and will keep you posted as things change.

Should I be afraid?
No. The Bible is abundantly clear that we are to fear God and God alone (Matt 10:28). Every molecule in the universe is sustained by the word of His power (Heb 1:3). He is sovereign over life and death and the Coronavirus. As believers, we want to conduct ourselves in love, not fear (1 John 4:18). So it is out of love, and not fear, that we want to be cautious and conscientious. It is out of love for our people and our city and in cooperation with our civil authorities that we are postponing all ministry events at both campuses for the next two weeks. Reevaluation and further communication will follow at that point.

Are we still worshipping on Sunday morning?
Yes, but in a different way than normal. We will not meet at our church campuses. Please make every effort to worship our great God utilizing the live stream option. There will be one service which will go live at 10:00am on Sundays. If you run into any issues with the live stream, please let us know by emailing info@westhillssj.org, and we will make every effort to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

What about other events?
The All Church Worship night scheduled for Sunday; March 15th is being postponed. We are tentatively aiming to reschedule in late April. To reiterate, all other events at the church campus are postponed for the next two weeks when the situation will be reassessed. If you attend a Bible study that does not meet at the church campus, please defer to your leader.

What about La Casa?
The leadership of La Casa is still evaluating the situation and will make a final decision in the coming weeks. For those who are signed up, stay tuned for further communication.

What if I’m sick or in need?
If you are in need of pastoral care, prayer, or meals please let us know by contacting info@westhillssj.org.

How can I continue to give?
Since we are not holding services at the campuses and will not collect an offering, we encourage you to continue to worship God through giving online. You are also welcome to mail a check to the church office (16695 DeWitt Ave. Morgan Hill, CA. 95037).

How can I serve?
The Elders of the San Jose campus are also asking community groups to refrain from meeting for one week until further evaluation can be made. Additionally, consider how you might be able to serve your neighbors. When the coronavirus passes, how will your neighbors remember you? Be prepared to give them a reason for the hope that is in you. This is an incredible opportunity for the world to see followers of Jesus acting out of fearless, sacrificial love.

What if I have more questions?
Feel free to contact us at info@westhillssj.org or call the church office (408) 779-0697 and we’ll get you connected with the right person.

In Christ,

The Elders of West Hills Community Church
