How it all started...
The San Jose campus of West Hills Community Church started in the Evergreen neighborhood with a desire to help reach the multitudes of San Jose with the gospel. The Lord compelled a small group of faithful believers from the West Hills Morgan Hill campus to begin meeting in a neighborhood park, explaining the gospel publicly and inviting neighbors to join us. In fall of 2010 we held our first public worship service at the Evergreen Community Center. God was faithful.
Where are we now?
As the church continued to worship and participate in the great commission, the Lord increased our numbers. Some people were converted and discipled, other moved into the city and became members devoted to the same work of exalting Christ, all while the church continued praying that the Lord would raise up more workers to contribute to His work in our city. We eventually outgrew the Evergreen Community Center at which point the Lord graciously provided our new center of worship and mission in the Willow Glen neighborhood in the fall of 2018. God is faithful.
What lies ahead?
We remain committed to our values and vision of making disciples, multiplying community groups and reaching the city. As the Lord provides, we desire to plant more God-glorifying, gospel-centered, disciple-making churches in the South Bay. We are also committed to being a highly collaborative church that works with, not only our Morgan Hill campus, but other local churches in our area to see this vision unfold. As we strive to focus on bringing glory to His name, we press forward with an unshakable confidence that God will be faithful.
