Mission

Proclaim & Demonstrate the Gospel

We are active participants in the mission of God by both proclaiming the gospel and demonstrating the gospel. Our vision is to see both the San Jose area, and the world filled with the glory of God. This fullness comes when the gospel is peached courageously, believed on supernaturally and seen tangibly by the works of those who call Jesus their Lord. Thus we proclaim this truth and we let our good works shine before all men that our city, and world may see the work and glorify our Father who is in Heaven.

Local Mission

We are active participants in the mission of God by both proclaiming and demonstrating the gospel through evangelism and good works. Our vision is to see the San Jose area filled with the knowledge of the glory of God. This fullness comes when the gospel is peached courageously, believed on supernaturally, and seen tangibly through the works of those who call Jesus their Lord. Thus we proclaim and explain the truth of the gospel, letting our good works shine before all men that our city may see those works and glorify our Father who is in Heaven (Matt. 5:16)

We purposefully engage in Jesus’ mission to make the gospel known through individual evangelism, outreach through community groups, prayer, and partnering with Christian and non-profit organizations. Here are some examples of how we at West Hills San Jose participate in the mission of God:

Praying for the city and the lost

We have a group of faithful intercessors who gather every Friday night for prayer. Because we believe God answers our prayers, we seek to faithfully pray that God’s will would be done on earth as it is in heaven. If you are interested in joining us in prayer for the city and the lost, contact Chris Gatihi or Justin Madison for details.

Backyard Bible Clubs

A number of West Hills families host bible clubs in their backyards over the summer. These serve as an outreach to children from local neighborhoods, and provide a fun, safe atmosphere to learn about Jesus and hear the gospel!

Service Sunday Projects

Every year we work with the city to find ways we can clean, fix or beautify San Jose. We have done everything from cleaning graffiti off walls, to feeding the homeless, to rebuilding an entire community garden at a local elementary school. These projects provide easy inroads to sharing the gospel of Jesus with our neighbors.

Joni and Friends

We send workers to camps and help provide respite events in conjunction with this ministry dedicated to extending the love and message of Jesus Christ to people who are affected by disability. www.joniandfriends.org

Real Options

We support Real Options though fundraisers like Walk for Life, and giving volunteer hours in their clinics.  Real Options strives to be the first place young people go to learn all their options regarding unplanned pregnancies.   They offer a broad spectrum of prevention, intervention, and redemption services to the community that positively impacts over 7000 children and families each year in Santa Clara County.  www.friendsofrealoptions.net

Santa Clara County Correctional Facility

We partner with the correctional institutions in our area to visit the incarcerated and speak the gospel into their lives. www.cicministries.org

Global Mission

We partner with our Morgan Hill campus to support a number of missionaries who have been sent our from our church community to serve Christ all over the world. We do this in obedience to Jesus’ commission to bring the gospel to the ends of the earth! Find out more about Global Missions at West Hills and the missionaries we support.
