Every Christian has a personal relationship with God, but also belongs to a larger group. Christian faith is not meant to be lived in isolation. For that reason, the local church is not a building or a worship service. Instead the Bible describes the church as a people committed to one another, praying for one another and showing love for one another. In authentic community we’re able to disciple one another, encourage one another, serve together and show the world physical proof of God’s transforming power through our love and sacrifice. In practice West Hills sees Community Groups as a place for this to happen.
